Coffee shops are often the heart of a community and when it opened it 2017, Pour quickly become a hub of local color and flavor in Norwell center. Regular customers are greeted like family and newbies are warmly welcomed into the fold. “I owned Coffee Corner in Scituate for 20 years and after we sold it, I missed it because of the people. I started my first shop when I was 23 and have become close with so many of my customers. When the space in Norwell opened up, I felt it was a wonderful location to get back into the coffee business. The people of Norwell and surrounding towns have been so kind and supportive. We are so thankful to be here,” said Mike Sheskey.

During my morning errands, I stopped by around 10:45 am. Inventory was a little low after the morning crush, but I still managed to snag a few muffins for the kids and me. Serving mostly local goods, Pour is a great way to shop small. Arriving warm each morning are donuts from Weymouth’s Donut King (4.5 stars on Yelp!) and bagels from Hingham’s Atlantic Bagel Co. (don’t forget the cream cheese––spreads are expertly blended in-house.) Muffins are baked daily at each store.

“We try to keep our menu simple but with the highest of quality. We don’t use the flash frozen eggs–we crack the egg right when it’s ordered. My favorite sandwich on the menu is the sausage and egg with cheddar cheese. My pants have become a little snug since we opened,” chuckles Sheskey.

The coffee at Pour is also local and freshly roasted by Mike Sullivan at Harmon Coffee in Scituate. Flavors include hazelnut, French vanilla, snickerdoodle, mocha cinnamon, coconut, and my favorite- banana hazelnut which pairs perfectly with a banana nut muffin.

Pour now has three locations: Norwell, Cohasset, and the newest store in Hanover. While I’m usually popping into the Norwell location, I’ve been known to take the scenic route home just to swing by the Cohasset location with its convenient drive-thru.

For now, Sheskey says he’ll focus on his current shops to ensure quality. “It’s truly a pleasure to go to work. I am very lucky and never take it for granted.”

All three locations are open 7 days a week, 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM

  • Norwell, 686 Main Street (cash only)
  • Cohasset, 190 King Street (Drive-thru, credit cards accepted here)
