There’s another Mexican restaurant in town—Weymouth Landing to be specific—Uno Mas. Evan Harrington, Nick Palermo, and Michael Johnson, the trio that owns Quincy’s Liberty Tavern, longed for another restaurant on the South Shore. That longing, combined with a love of Tex-Mex and tequila, led to Uno Mas opening last fall, offering a new take on Mexican-inspired food in a fun and funky setting with a vibe that’s drawing in many customers. Welcome to the neighborhood.

But also in the works is St. Ours offering folks shells of the pesky crustacean to use as fertilizer. Sorbae Frozen Treats in New Bedford is serving up vegan frozen pops like Creamy Guava and Hibiscus to name a few. Owner Monica Ferraciola, who had become both lactose and gluten-sensitive, wanted to develop a creamy rich frozen dessert that also has a high taste quotient. With much experimentation and a can-do mindset, Sorbae Frozen Treats was created, using the freshest of ingredients and marrying international “nostalgic flavors with modern creativity.” Success in the sweetest of ways!

We are heartbroken over the recent loss of two longtime marketing partners, Jim Halunen (Plymouth) and Carol Rio (E. Bridgewater and New York)—who over the years became so much more than business colleagues. Their friendship, generosity, and belief in our mission left a lasting mark, and they will be deeply missed.
