Switch oven on to 350 degrees.
Heat vegetable oil in a medium saute pan set on medium. Add the onion, garlic, and ginger, and cook, stirring, until softened. Set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the pork, beef, egg, breadcrumbs, five-spice powder, sesame oil, and soy sauce or tamari. Clean hands are the best tool for the job. As it comes together, work in the sautéed mixture.
Press mixture into a 9” X 9” square baking pan. Spread ketchup on top
Bake for 45 to 50 minutes, or until it reaches 140 degrees in the center.
