Combine all of the ingredients and cook in a saucepan of choice over medium heat.
Stir occasionally, until sugar is dissolved.
Strain the syrup, cool before pouring into a glass jar or bottle and refrigerate for up to one week.
Combine with soda, seltzer, or mineral water to make a fresh summer soda.
Garnish with berries, or any of the citrus fruits. Enjoy!
Makes enough syrup for about 12 to 16 drinks, with or without alcohol, to taste.
