Simple Syrup:
You can replace mulberries with other seasonal fruits for a variety of different summer sodas. Add a splash of alcohol if so desired.
Ingredients
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup of mulberries
- Juice of one lemon
Instructions
- Combine all of the ingredients and cook in a saucepan of choice over medium heat.
- Stir occasionally, until sugar is dissolved.
- Strain the syrup, cool before pouring into a glass jar or bottle and refrigerate for up to one week.
- Combine with soda, seltzer, or mineral water to make a fresh summer soda.
- Garnish with berries, or any of the citrus fruits. Enjoy!
- Makes enough syrup for about 12 to 16 drinks, with or without alcohol, to taste.
