Who Knew…?

Fall River is super famous for many things. What about a local food specialty? Just the coolest sandwich evah!

Crispy noodles slathered in gravy served on a warm bun—you can find it at Mee Sum. Yum! Mee Sum Restaurant uses Fall River companies for both their fried noodles (Oriental Chow Mein Company) and buns (Gold Medal Bakery). This local iconic sandwich recently attracted the attention of NPR, and then CNN’s Great Big Story. To celebrate the attention, owners Regina and Kenneth Mark donated all the proceeds from a day’s sandwich sales (over 1500 sandwiches!) to St. Anne’s Preservation Society.

This story is full of carbohydrates, community, and well-being— the three essential ingredients in good comfort food. It is good, in the best gravy-dripping, finger-licking kind of way. So next time you are in Fall River, we suggest you get yourself some yummy food at Mee Sum.
