A big step up from the dip made with commercial onion soup mix!
- heaping ½ cup of sour cream
- 2 teaspoons locally made garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon dried herbs, such as dill, or 2 tablespoons minced fresh herbs, (such as chives)
- ⅛ teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- dash of cayenne
Mix together and serve with a platter of sliced raw vegetables and crackers. Colorful radishes are good here, such as watermelon or KN-Bravo daikon radishes.
For a party hors d’oeuvre, try this dip on roasted fingerling potatoes: slice a pound or two of fingerlings lengthwise, toss them with olive oil and salt, and then roast at 425 degrees for 20-30 minutes. Cool slightly and dab some dip on each half.
Serve warm or at room temperature.
Great slathered on an everyday baked potato, too.
