This Thursday 12/23/21 from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm Destination Soups in downtown New Bedford MA will be giving away a free 8oz cup of soup to all who visit. Yes, you read that correctly, FREE SOUP!
Owner Devin Byrnes started this tradition back in December of 2012 as a holiday thank you for his patrons’ continued support. But the generosity doesn’t end there, Devin has also given his local patrons a chance to give back every day of the year. If one can spare a few bucks while there, they can purchase a soup, salad, sandwich, or combination of items that are written on post-it notes. These paid-for food items are pinned on a board for anyone in need of sustenance–but without the means to pay for them–to redeem.
Visit on Thursday for the free soup, but trust me when I say, once you take a look at their menu, you will want to try everything. Odds are that you’ll end up with a salad, sandwich, or cup of deliciously creamy Mac & Cheese with that free cup of soup. With things like the Wunderkind Salad, The Portucheese Grilled Cheese (A grilled cheese sandwich filled with ground chourico, roasted red peppers, and sautéed onions), and hearty soups like their Creamy Tomato Basil or Lemon Pepper Chicken Rice, they are all sure to please.
Destination Soups has been a staple in the local New Bedford community for 13 years and you’ll see exactly why once you’ve paid them a visit. Enjoy the ambiance that downtown New Bedford has to offer while eating at one of the South Coast’s most delicious and fresh restaurants.
