New Date! Previously scheduled event was rained out.
In 2004, Darlene Nickerson founded Black Feather Horse Rescue in Plymouth MA to help abused and neglected animals. Over the past 20 years, she has helped countless animals including horses, llamas, donkeys, goats, pigs, and chickens. Her mission is to give the animals loving and healing homes, earn their trust, care for their needs and, when possible, find them new homes.
In addition to the Rescue, Darlene also manages the Gilbert Trout Hatchery, founded in 1869, it is the oldest Trout Hatchery in MA.
To help celebrate Black Feather Horse Rescue’s 20th anniversary, Independent Fermentations (IndieFerm) Brewery is collaborating with Darlene on a Gourmet Hike fundraiser through her property on Sundat August 11th from noon to 3 pm. The event will begin at IndieFerm Brewery and participants will hike through the woods to meet the rescued animals, visit the Trout Hatchery, and end up at Russell Mills Pond. There will be gourmet food stops focusing on local/seasonal foods and a unique culinary experience with local celebrity Chef Stephen Coe.
