Extensive specials change every day.

Matt’s Blackboard, the creation of seasoned local chef, Matt Gurney, opened in 2008 and was inspired by his more than 20 years as a professional chef. Matt let his passion for fresh food take the creative lead, his menu includes New England standards like Fish & Chips and a real Italian Sub, as well as menu items with some flair, like Wild Mushroom Ravioli, Scallops Wrapped in Bacon, and Roasted Red Pepper Pizza.

Matt keeps it fresh by changing up his extensive specials board every day. His chefs in the kitchen use the fresh ingredients Matt sources daily to create the wonderful specials listed on his iconic signature blackboard. During the summer you will see locally-grown heirloom tomatoes and Rochester sweetcorn, and butternut squash creations in the fall. In the recently opened lounge section, you can enjoy multiple specials “Tapas style” Thursday through Sunday. Matt says he has unleashed his creativity with the Tapas, and has enjoyed highlighting fresh seafood—which he purchases directly from his fishermen friends, sometimes the very same day it was caught. With an owner who seeks out that level of fresh quality, Matt’s Blackboard is guaranteed to offer something to satisfy everyone in your party.
